I was discussing with some friends over the course of the week and coincidentally, most of our discussions were about people's expectations of us.
Most times, people think they already know how the course of your life should run so they try to pressure you into doing what they think you ought to be doing at a particular time. And, if you don't meet up to their expectations, you are seen as unserious, foolish and a waste.
I've had my share of people's opinions and as much as I like to listen to people, when their opinions seem overwhelming, I just filter their incessant opinions and do what works fine with me (especially when it's in line with my purpose) to avoid emotional stress.
Could it be that the reason some people feel depressed is because they couldn't filter the world's opinions of them and do what works best for them?
