Of Marriage

“I don’t want to be married just to be married. I can’t think of anything lonelier than spending the rest of my life with someone I can’t talk to, or worse, someone I can’t be silent with.” -Mary Ann Shaffer

We were discussing about marriage in my office. And my superiors were asking me if I would want to marry one of the natives of their state. And I said some things that perplexed them.

First of all, there is no perfect human being but, we should try to come to a level of understanding and be agreeable on certain matters including ‘purpose’. And no matter who you think is good for you, ask God. He knows the best for you.
But it’s not until you want to marry before you start seeking God’s will. If you don’t know how to seek God’s will on other areas of your life, what will happen when it’s time for marriage? Would you go to a prophet to submit names of prospective husbands? Well, God is interested in all the affairs of your life. So, know His modus operandi.
Also, seek the right counsel because those you seek counsel from, won’t make decisions based on their emotions; they will tell you as it is.

This is just a glimpse into marriage. May we choose right.

Tll the next post, keep learning.
